Carrie Leahy just sent us this pic of a False Albacore caught in the Indian River Inlet today! … photo and caption from Old Inlet Bait and Tackle

A few minutes ago Clark Evans from Old Inlet Bait and Tackle sent us a picture of a false albacore caught by Carrie Leahy at Indian River Inlet.  He doesn’t have any details as far as baits and such, but Carrie Leahy was very excited over this catch earlier this morning, when she was talking to Clark.  I still want to catch an albacore from the shore, that is a fight like no other.  Looks like we have a new catch to go after at IRI, there have been a few small ones caught from the walls out front but this is the largest we have seen in that area.  Between tuatog and bluefish during the day, and striped bass action at night the inlet is really heating up.   Beach update … Naval Crossing in Cape Henlopen State Park is open, for all those that have been asking, but be careful at high tide.  Stay out of the tide pools with your vehicles.
